Description:

Burrum Heads Amateur Fishing Club welcomes family anglers of all ages and skill, near and far to the 2015 annual Burrum Heads Easter Fishing Classic!

Competitors from across Australia have been flocking to this event each year for over 20 years for the fantastic atmosphere and a chance to wet a line and relax over the Easter long weekend.

There will be a YAMAHA SUPER DRAW on Easter Sunday consisting of a 4.2m SeaJay boat with 30hp Yamaha outboard on Redco trailer.

This event is not to be missed with over $40,000 in prizes and giveaways.

Schedule of events:

Event Launch

Competition commences at 7am Good Friday & closes at the end of the Dead Weigh-in at 1pm on Easter Sunday. Sign-on at the event is 7am to 4.30pm Good Friday & 7am to 12noon Easter Saturday.

Good Friday:

Live weigh-in and release only – 9am to 4.30pm

Easter Saturday:

Live weigh-in & release 8am to 11.30am & 1.30pm to 3.30pm. Dead weigh-in 12 noon to 1pm & 4pm to 5pm.

Promotional Draw

Give-aways & Raffles from 12pm. First five (5) finalists drawn at approximately 4.30pm.
Food & Refreshments available.

Easter Sunday:

Live weigh-in & release – 8am to 11.30pm. Dead weigh-in – 12pm to 2pm

Last five (5) finalists drawn at approximately 3.00pm, followed by the Lucky five 5 Finalists draw. Presentation to competition prize winners. Give-aways & Raffles from 12.00pm including drawing of Major Raffles.

Burrum Heads Easter Fishing Classic

Compete from anywhere in Australia 365 days of the year in our Online Fishing Tournaments! With over $150,000 cash and prizes up for grabs annually you’d be mad miss out on this awesome Australia-wide fishing competition.

Our comps are held monthly and there is over $12,000 in cash and prizes to give away every month! There are 20 species to target in the National Tournament with a minimum $300 prize for the longest fish in each category. Likewise in the State tournaments there is a minimum $100 prize for the longest of each species. We also have a Kids Comp for kids 15yrs and under. The species lists change a little month-to-month due to seasonal trends and is always jam packed full of Australia’s most popular saltwater and freshwater fish.

Entry into a monthly tournament starts at just $10 and you can join whenever you like during the month. Compete at a time that suits you and fish your favourite fishing spot either by yourself or with your mates. You have the whole month to land that winning fish which means you don’t have to fish poor or dangerous conditions like in other comps.

Description:

Registrations will open in October 2014 for the annual HUMMINBIRD Mathoura Fishing Classic. Heading into its 16th year, the event is one of the premier fishing classics held on the Murray River and is a fun packed weekend for the whole family.

Commencing on Friday 27th February 2015, over $40,000 in prizes will be up for grabs including the major prize – an all inclusive Boat and Motor package (including trailer) valued at over $18,000. A second boat will be raffled for those who register prior to January 30th 2015.

The purpose of the event is to raise funds to restock the rivers with native fish, while also providing entrants with the opportunity to experience a great family event in a fantastic location.

Following the success of this years event, the committee donated another $5,000 towards the Native Fish Stocking Program, and as such will release a further 22,500 fingerlings into the river system. Over the years, in excess of 300,000 fish have been released into the river as a result of the Mathoura Fishing Classic.
