Numerous holes and gutters can be found along the beach. A decent spot to target bread and butter species in the surf in the early mornings or late afternoon. Small beach worms can be caught here. There's a carpark at the end of Aslings Beach Road and the adjacent Lake Curalo is also worth a flick for flathead on plastics or shallow-diving hard-body minnows.

The eastern side of Bawley Point is a sloping rock shelf that produces a variety of species. Berley with bread will increase your chances off attracting and holding fish in your location. Use lightly weighted baits and keep constant contact with it. This area is quite snaggy and if conditions allow a small float may come in handy to suspend your bait off the bottom.

An easy cement platform to fish on the inside of the wall. Can be a bit slow at times. A decent spot to target squid in winter and in the warmer months keep an eye out for bonito and frigate mackerel busting up in close. Either send a slimy out under a balloon or spin with small 40g metal lures.

Take the Brighton Road exit off West Coast Hwy. Take the first left and park at the col de sac at the end. Access the beach via sandy track at the end of the park.

Busselton Jetty is a great spot for a wide variety of species with options for anglers of all abilities. There's a few platforms low to the water which are easy to fish off. Walk all the way to the end to target larger species. Great for crabs in the warmer months, great for squid in the colder months.

Berley up and fish the inside of the wall here for herring, garfish, silver bream, skippy and squid. Fishing on the outside can produce whiting and squid. Bring a long-handled landing net in summer as you may even see a few blue swimmer crabs swim past. Those less nimble may not be able to make it all the way out.

Coila Beach generally has nice deepish water within the first couple of hundred meters from the car park. Find yourself a good hole or gutter along this stretch and fish the early morning or evening for salmon and tailor with ganged pilchards or lures. Bream and whiting can also be caught on beach worms and pipis. After dark is your best bet for larger species and this spot can produce sharks during the warmer months.

Slamon and tailor can also be caught here on ganged pilchards or spinning with smallish metals or hard-bodies.

Corinella Pier is a large concrete and timber pier that provides shore based anglers access to relatively deep water of about 5m. There are a couple of lower platforms that allow you to get right down close to the water. If the tide is running in fish the right side, if it is running out fish the left side. The bottom is pretty bare and consists mainly of sand and mud. This pier is a good place to target larger species at night such as mulloway, gummy sharks and elephant fish. Diggers Head is a good spot to target a variety of species from the rocks. Fishing around the wash or into the blue hole with prawns, cunji, crabs or weed can yield drummer, groper and luderick. Try spinning with medium sized metal slices for tailor or alternatively fish pilchards on gangs under a float. Casting out wider with fish baits or fresh cuttlefish can produce good sized snapper. A relatively easy rock fishing platform casting out onto sandy bottom behind the breakers. If there's people surfing there's a good chance it's too rough. Flinders Pier is a large wooden pier popular with anglers and is one of the best land-based spots in Western Port. The bottom consists of sand patches amongst weed and is approximately 6m deep at the end. Fish the sand patches for whiting during the warmer months and over weed beds for squid. Squid can be caught during the day and at night and the colder months are best. Fishing around the pylons can produce trevally, leatherjacket and wrasse. Hells Gate offers quality Land Based Game fishing and is not a spot for the inexperienced. The rock shelf here is a great platform for spinning for pelagics or fishing the bottom for mulloway, bream etc. Again, it should only be fished in a low swell by experienced rock anglers.

On the western side of Knoll Drive, in the vicinity of this icon, there is a small car park. Looking north-west from the car park you can see the Rest Point Holiday Village on the other side. Fish near the car park for bream and flathead, walking north around the rocks if you have to. A bit of berley will work if the fishing is slow.

Long Gully picnic and camping area is the starting point of 'The Castle' walking trail. From the Princess Highway, head towards Pigeon House Mountain. Follow the road past Pigeon House Mountain turnoff. Continue to the turnoff to Long Gully Road where there is a sign saying 'The Castle'. The river anywhere around here produces great Bass fishing. Under the bridge here is a decent spot to catch a feed of bream and sometimes a mangrove jack. Fish the inside if the tide is coming in, fish the outside if the tide is going out. The canals on either side of Mandurah Road here produce good quality and quantities of bream. Fish in close to structure like jetties, pylons and moored boats. Whether you fish it from shore or by boat/kayak is up to you, however fishing from a boat/kayak opens up more options. If fishing from shore, find a vacant block or basically anywhere you can access the water. Flick small bream lures around structure and you should be able to get a few hits. In failing that you can revert back to baits. Fleshy baits like strips of Tailor fillets or half mulies work very well. There are blowies so don't be afraid to up your bait size. A running sinker rig fished with a size 0 or 1 ball sinker and a 2/0-3/0 hook is ideal for using bigger baits. Remember the slow growth rates of black bream and don't keep too many, if any.

To the north west is a large mud flat that tapers into deeper water where the wharf is. Live bait is the way to go and can be caught with a cast net thrown from the wharf. Fishing off the north side of the jetty in close to the wall can produce big barra. However, in order to land your fish you will need a cliff gaff or someone will have to climb down one of the ladders to land it for you.

Merricks Beach is a renown spot to target salmon and gummy sharks during the colder months. Fish at night using big baits if you wish to catch gummies. Merricks also fishes well for flathead and King George whiting in the warmer months. Rigs to try are the Paternoster Rig and the Running Sinker Rig for targeting whiting and flathead, and Beach Fishing Rigs for targeting gummy sharks. Bigger fish can be a bit timid so fish lighter leaders and fluorocarbon if necessary. Plenty of room to find a spot to yourself along here between the boat ramp and beach. Only take a few fish for a feed and remember to measure, as many fish here are borderline.

A popular spot for a variety of species including squid. The creek adjacent to the pier produces good sized bream and mullet. A basic but effective rig to try here is the Running Sinker Rig. Casting distance and wind speed will dictate the required sinker size and hook size will depend on the species you are chasing. For targeting King George whiting a #2 long shank hook is ideal, for bream and flathead a 1/0-2/0 hook, and for snapper anything from a 3/0-6/0 depending on bait size.

Casting wide off the rock wall during a westerly is a good way to target bigger snapper. Rigs to try are the Paternoster Rig and the Running Sinker Rig (recommended for use around pylons with very light weight). Muttonbird Island is one of the best rock fishing platforms in the Coffs region for targeting a variety of species from black drummer to spanish mackerel. Fishing around the wash or into the blue hole with prawns, cunji, crabs or weed can yield drummer, groper, bream and luderick. Try spinning with large metal slices, large bibbed minnows or soft plastics for pelagics. Ballooning live baits is an equally viable option for targeting pelagics. Casting out wide with fish baits or fresh cuttlefish can produce good sized snapper. A good rig to use when fishing the bottom is the Running Sinker Rig. Here's some additional info on how to catch Black Drummer (aka Rock Blackfish). Access via a path that runs over the top of the island.

Noosa Beach is a stunning location to wet the feet and catch a feed of whiting and bream. The beach is pretty featureless (apart from the rock wall), however casting into the impact zone or just beyond the breakers with beach worms or pipis is the place to position your bait. A slow retrieve may help entice a bite if the going is slow.

The breakwall here fishes well for a variety of estuary species. The current can be quite strong and on the larger tides fishing the turn of the tides is probably the best option depending on what you are targeting. Fish close to the rocks for bream and luderick and fish the channel for flathead and whiting. Larger predators like mulloway can be caught here, around/after sunset being your best bet on large plastics or live baits.

Must be a low swell to fish this spot and you will get wet. This spot fishes well in the evening for salmon, tailor and small bronze whaler sharks. After a big swell there is a chance of snapper in the evenings. Bait cast pilchards on gangs and when it starts to get dark switch to wire trace rigs and slab/fillet baits if targeting sharks. Walk carefully as there are potholes and the racks are slippery. Leave your valuables at home, not in the car.

At low tide you can walk right out onto the sand flat and cast into the shallow channel between the larger sand flat in the middle of the river. It's a productive spot to target whiting, bream and flathead. Pump nippers/yabbies on the sand flat at low tide. If fishing from a boat try throughout this whole area. Drift or anchor if you find fish. Beach worms and nippers/yabbies are the best baits, alternatively soft plastics and shallow-diving minnow lures also work well here for flathead. Whiting can also be taken on micro topwater lures.
