Congratulations to all of the winners of our March State and National Fishing Tournaments. March saw the introduction of our State tournaments and as a result it was out largest tournament to date, with a record number of fish entered and over $10,000 in cash and prizes given away!

Well what a month that was! Our February fishing tournament was a great success with 129 fish entered for the month. $6,720 worth of cash and prizes has been handed out to the winners who will be putting their prizes to good use. The December tournament is now underway and already we are seeing some nice fish being submitted, particularly freshwater species such as Murray Cod and Golden Perch.

Please make sure your fish are alive in BOTH photos!

This month there were multiple instances of people submitting fish that were dead or had their necks cut. We know these were honest mistakes, however, the Tournament Rules state that the fish must be alive in both photos, therefore we were unable to accept those entries.

Our October fishing tournament is now over and we would like to thank all tournament members who participated and congratulate all of the winners. The October tournament was in full swing from the get go, with many fish being weighed in on the first day of the competition and by the end of the month the Leaderboard was bulging at the seems with respectable fish. Additional to the prizes given for the 20 species categories Mick McCallum from Tumby Bay in South Australia was also a winner. Mick picked up $150 cash in the 0-50cm Mystery Length category for his 41cm King George Whiting. Mick weighed in half a dozen nice KGW on the first day of the month and little did he know that one of the fish was a Mystery Length winner. The second Mystery Length in the 51-200cm category was not caught. The lucky number was 123cm.

For those people who don’t often cross paths with big fish we have some great news for you! This month the Mystery Length prize has been replaced with a Lucky Draw prize. At the end of the month three lucky anglers will be drawn at random to win $150, $100 or $50. Each fish you submit gives you one entry in the draw. The more fish you submit the better chance you have at winning and the fish don’t even have to be big! So get out there, Get Fishing and enter as many fish as you can! The November tournament is now underway and already we are seeing some nice fish being submitted. Be sure to check in regularly and see what fish you are up against. This will help you plan your next outing if you think there is a particular fish on the board that you think you can beat. Don’t forget to take your tournament code and camera with you to photograph as many eligible captures as you can. Each month we see a couple of relatively small fish on the board that go on to win prizes and we hear the familiar story “I caught a fish bigger than that but didn’t think it had a chance”. You’ve got to be in it to win it, and with $300-$449 prizes at stake you’d be mad to miss out.

For those that have found the website a bit slow in the past you might have already noticed that pages are now loading significantly faster. On Monday 3rd November we changed servers to an Australian host and as a result we are now experiencing lightning fast page load times up to 20 times faster than previous. Submitting your catch should now be a breeze and flicking through pages should be seamless.

Our August tournament was the first of it’s kind in Australia and overall was a huge success. The September tournament is now in full swing and already we are seeing some nice fish being submitted. We’ve made a few adjustments to the prizes and species this month so please take note of the following:

• Eligible species: To give you more to target we’ve grouped multiple species in some categories. For example we’ve combined Samsonfish, Amberjack, Kingfish and Cobia into one category, Seriola Sp./Cobia. For a full list of eligible species and to view this months fantastic prizes visit this months Prizes page.

• WIN cash with Mystery Length: This month there are 2 x $150 cash prizes up for grabs. One randomly selected length between 0-50cm and one between 51-200cm. All fish entered automatically qualify. First person to enter a fish the right length wins $150 cash. So even if you see a bigger fish on the board don’t worry you still have a shot at $150 cash or if you’re feeling lucky $300 cash if you get both.

• Tournament Codes: As many of you may have noticed we are no longer sending out emails with your tournament codes. We’ve developed a much smarter system where you can access your monthly code any time of the month from or website. Simply log in and head to the Tournament Codes page and your code will be displayed on the screen. You must be logged in to view this page.

• Handy Hint: Many participants are either laminating their code or keeping them inside a zip-lock bag and stowing away in their bags so that they’ve always got it handy. There were numerous reports of people forgetting to take their codes with them and then going on to catch fish that would have been winners, including one report of a 130cm Kingfish! Suffice to say they won’t be making the same mistake twice.
